Between 2005 and 2010, Walden Media produced three The Chronicles of Narnia films . At that time, it was not possible to make all seven books by CS Lewis into the screen. The first two on-screen titles were created in cooperation with Disney, although Fox was already the distributor of the third one. The fourth film was never made, but since Disney bought Fox, fans can watch all three parts of the adaptation on Disney+.
Netflix has the rights to The Chronicles of Narnia since 2018. It is unknown whether Greta Gerwig intends to interpret the world created by Lewis in her own way or to stick tightly to the source material to create a faithful adaptation. Internet users predict that while the director intends to stick to the chronology of the books, there are two possible starting points for the series. The first is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe , the first and most famous installment in the series. The other is The Magician’s Nephew , the sixth novel in the series. The action of this title takes place before the events of the first titles of the series. The wizard’s nephewnever got its screen adaptation, which would give Netflix a field to show off. What’s more, the new work would not be compared to those from several years ago.
