Streaming platform Max has released a trailer for the animated spin-off of the popular Gremlins franchise . Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai will tell the story of the hero before the events of the first film.
Warner Bros. already declared to focus on returning to recognizable brands. Therefore, the emergence of a production referring to the Gremlins series was only a matter of time. Gremlins : Secrets of the Mogwai has been in development for some time, but only now have we gotten a better look at the upcoming cartoon. The series will both appeal to older fans while providing an entry point for younger viewers who may have never seen either of the films before.

The action of the series takes place in Shanghai, in the 1920s, and one of the main characters is Gizmo. He strikes up a friendship with Wing when he tries to return Gizmo to his family. Along the way, the two encounter and sometimes fight monsters and ghosts from Chinese folklore. In addition, they are hunted by a power-hungry industrialist and his army of evil Gremlins.
According to the announcement, actors known from the original series are to be included in the voice cast, including Zach Galligan who played Billy Peltzer in Gremlins and Gremlins 2 .
