The Krakow-based Krowa Robocza film group is making a film from the Gothic universe, a game for which many people feel sentimental!
We are just celebrating the 20th anniversary of the creation of the first game in the Gothic series (next year also the 20th anniversary of the Polish release), while the Krakow film group Krowa Robocza has decided to make a film set in this universe! The plan was created some time ago, and now it’s time to implement the idea. For this purpose, a special fundraiser has been created on the website zrzutka.pl , where you can support the creators.
We took patronage over the upcoming movie Gothic: Awakening and we will keep you informed about news from the set, and now you will read what is known so far.
What will the movie be about?
We want to go beyond the framework imposed by the series of games, and present the story only mentioned in Gothic I, which takes place before the action of the game. We will tell you about Berion, who is known to every player as Y’Berion – a powerful guru and sect leader in the Swamp. In the film, we meet him as a digger with no prospects, haunted by visions sent by a mysterious, sleeping god.

What kind of genre will it be and how long will it last?
The film will be a horror film, heavily inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft and the films of such creators as John Carpenter. It will last approximately 15 minutes.
Will we see places known from the game?
Places known to you from the Gothic saga, as well as Berion’s dreams and visions, will be created by our film crew, with the help of locations and computer effects that you can see in our teaser.

What will we spend the collected amount on?
The entire amount will be spent on making the film – creating costumes and props (you will see a professionally made Shadow outfit soon), but also strictly organizational and technical elements of each film set – equipment rental, transport, accommodation, meals. The organizers do not derive any financial benefits from the collection or the film that will be made available on the channel of the Krowa Robocza film group.
