As improbable as it may seem, this year’s edition of one of the most famous fantasy events is coming: Fantasy Days 2021. In just a few weeks, on August 20-22, the festival will open the gate to a Fantastic New World – a reality where corporations’ fights are in order daytime, extraterrestrial journeys do not surprise anyone or humanity has learned the secret of immortality and its consequences. And all this, as always, in the well-known Zamek Cultural Center in Leśnica in Wrocław.
This year, the leitmotif will be broadly understood science fiction, the hallmark of which is the presentation of various visions of the coming future. Therefore, the participants, while participating in the event, will be able to discover future opportunities and threats to humanity, as well as explore potential paths of its development and analyze the prospects for the future created by the creators of the species.
This year’s speakers will focus on the literary output of such famous authors as: George Orwell, Janusz A. Zajdel, Edmund Wnuk-Lipiński, Issac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, Aldous Huxley and Mieczysław Smolarski – masters of creating futuristic visions. But the organizers did not forget about our other native artist, Stanisław Lem. His work will play a special role at the festival in connection with the writer’s 100th birthday in 2021.
However, apart from the lectures and discussions, all kinds of attractions, numerous retail outlets and thematic workshops will be waiting for the participants.
