The Lodger
I wondered how to describe the Tenant to prove that he should be among all the great, great or epic adventures of the Eleventh Doctor. A lot can be said about this episode, but the most important thing is that it is simply enjoyable. In the episode, we meet a sympathetic hero who steals hearts from the very first moment, and besides, we get a Doctor who tries to prove that he can live like an ordinary person. What could go wrong? The doctor has a great time, meets friends, plays football, talks to a cat, makes a career and destroys a cruel plan of cruel cosmic forces. This cute episode provides emotion, laughter and a bit of fear – just nothing more, nothing less!
Of course, I love great emotions, dramatic speeches and intricate storylines, but I also need these nice, simple episodes. It is this familiarity, cosiness and normality (as much as it is possible in the company of the Doctor) that has always found my heart. Although I don’t always have the Eleventh Doctor on my way, in Lokator I love him without reservations. The episode, although it seems inconspicuous, is “bigger in the middle” and you just have to see it to feel it … preferably several times. Besides, it’s a great position to turn on casually and spend a nice evening away from worries … – Ewelina Maziarczuk
