The Japanese technology and entertainment giant has acquired a recognized studio with which it has long been working closely.
During the ceremony preceding the actual launch of Gamescom, Sony revealed some very interesting news. Insomniac Games studio was purchased by the Japanese giant. The creators of Insomniac have many hits in their CVs exclusive to the Playstation console or closely associated with it. Among them there are, among others last year’s hit Spider-Man , as well as Spyro the Dragon , Resistance or Ratchet & Clank .
During his speech, the president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shawn Layden spoke in superlatives about Insomniac. He praised the creators mainly for world-class storytelling and unparalleled gameplay. Sony’s close cooperation with Insomniac has been going on for many years. According to Layden, the incorporation of the studio into their “family” confirms the commitment of the Japanese-based company to continue to provide the best possible electronic entertainment on Playstation consoles.
The founder and president of Insomniac games, Ted Price, like the head of SIE WWS, expressed only positives from this combination. He also added that he saw it as an opportunity to further develop the studio and create even better titles.
