The developers at Hogwarts Legacy shared an extensive 40+ minute look at the gameplay while giving viewers a fairly detailed tour of Hogwarts. The legendary school of witchcraft and wizardry is one of the most iconic fictional locations ever created, especially thanks to its adaptations. Although the book prototypes present the mental image of Hogwarts quite well, Harry Potter fans most often imagine the castle according to the movie vision. The films did it very well, creating a captivating and ancient climate. No modern technology, just magic. In Hogwarts Legacy it is clear that the creators took many elements from the film academy, and at the same time expanded them to give the players more space for exploration, collectibles, activities, etc.
The Avalanche Software team presented a fairly extensive demo of Hogwarts Legacy during a recent live stream that included a character creator demo and a tour of Hogwarts. Of course, not every corner of the school has been revealed, but the material clearly indicates that the academy will be a huge location full of interesting details. The windows of the school change depending on the season, players can follow the ranking of the House Cup in the school corridors, find side quests, puzzles and much more. The demo did not introduce us to some of the more recognizable places, such as the Great Hall or the Forbidden Forest outside the walls. Nevertheless, the world created by Avalanche seems very alive, because during the presented exploration there were random events, e.g. children on brooms flying overhead.
For now, it remains to wait for the premiere and verify the final product with what we saw during the demonstration. We heard about the game for the first time in 2020, and to this day, the creators have been receiving numerous suggestions from fans, who also led lively discussions among themselves. It can be assumed that both sides had enough time to build expectations and meet them.
The premiere of Hogwarts Legacy is scheduled for February 10, 2023. The game will be released on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
