Director JA Bayona and Amazon have re-filmed The Lord of the Rings series after a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The shooting takes place in New Zealand, as do the full-length screen adaptations of Tolkien’s novels.
It is said to be the world’s largest production. It has just expanded with new creators and a new cast, and among the roles cast will be Sauron and Elrond . Apart from the previously announced Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), these are also characters known from movies.
The currently known cast include: Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers and Daniel Weyman.
Although it is not yet known how the series will be received by Amazon and Warnes Bros. viewers. have already made an appointment for more than one season.
The premiere of The Lord of the Rings series is planned for next year.
