FX recently shared the latest trailer for American Horror Story Season 12. Now we can see a new poster that clearly signals the theme of the new season, entitled Delicate.
Like previous seasons of American Horror Story , the upcoming season 12, dubbed Delicate , features a terrifying ghost in its marketing material. While the new season is said to focus on the woman and her pregnancy, Delicate’s promotional material apparently features a spider theme. This prompts viewers to consider what the arachnids might mean in relation to the topics explored in the new season. You can check out the latest poster of American Horror Story: Delicate below before the season premieres on FX on September 20.
Their bite is deadly. The first part of AHS: Delicate premieres on September 20 on FX. Stream on Hulu
– signed the poster on Twitter by the official American Horror Story account .
Interestingly, this new poster shows a spider dangling from a web that comes out of Emma Roberts’ mouth and hovers over Kim Kardashian’s face. A previous poster showed Roberts holding her own belly while a spider-like creature sat on top of it. Based on what we know about the new season and the focus on the impacts a woman feels during pregnancy, the latest poster would suggest that Roberts’ character could influence the Kardashian character’s pregnancy. A previous poster, however, hinted that Roberts’ character would carry the baby.
Fans of the series may want to explore the coded messages for the new season, though that may just be aesthetic choices.
What is Delicate based on ?
The new season is based on the novel Delicate Condition by author Danielle Valentine. The writer previously joked about how she drew inspiration for the story from both Rosemary’s Baby and Alien .
Alien is actually a movie about pregnancy, but it was written by a man who doesn’t quite understand what he’s writing about. This is what happens when a guy thinks, What’s the scariest thing I can think of? And that’s the idea, what if you’re breeding this creature within you and it’s using your resources to grow and you can’t control it? It has a mind of its own and then one day it just explodes out of you in this gruesome bloody mess. When I first saw it as a child, it didn’t occur to me that this is what pregnancy is like, but by the time I was six months pregnant, I was like, “Oh, wow! It’s just a story of pregnancy without pregnancy.”
Valentine told Entertainment Weekly .
Stay tuned for any updates on American Horror Story: Delicate ahead of its September 20 launch on FX.
