Recently, we were delighted with the latest comic thematically referring to the original Mr Badger and Mrs Lisica series : Malinka . Today - to our escape - we will get to know the latest vicissitudes of the patchwork family of foxes and badgers.
According to the seasons
We meet the heroes of the series in various situations. Brigitte Luciani and Eve Tharlet portrayed a happy family life in the warmer months: Rozgardiasz and Ale crew! and a little less happy at the beginning of winter: Not a moment’s respite! In the latest volume, the family faces the challenges of a long and very harsh season. The resources they collected in the previous volume are slowly running out, and finding food sources – for both foxes and badgers – is a miracle. In addition – Mrs. Lisica’s parents come to the mink, i.e. two additional faces to feed. Luckily, foxes and badgers are really brave creatures!
It constantly delights
The way the series tackles difficult topics is captivating with its originality. The authors show what problems animals face in winter, but also indicate the doubts accompanying small and large family members. There are also conflicts, which, however, can be quickly resolved – all you need is a little understanding and support. Feeling bad, depressed, longing for warmth, resignation must be overcome finally – let the carnival come! In this volume, the animals will play on the nose of the snow queen, which may give way to spring. The publishers, as always, took care of the aesthetics of the edition – the comic is characterized by a hard cover, pleasant to the touch paper, clear illustrations and a charming endpaper. The colors are subdued, adequate to the season that dominates the volume. A feast for the eye.
Needed
We are already used to the fact that the Mr. Badger and Mrs. Lisica seriespresents human characters in animal masks. Some of the presented problems are typical of the non-human world, but emotions are the essence of humanity. In the latest volume, we again observe differences in the character and temperament of animals representing different species. In addition, we meet the parents of Mrs. Lisica, who live on a daily basis … in a retirement home. This is another aspect that should be addressed with the youngest and explaining the function of such centers in everyday life (so the series provides motivation to talk about specific topics). Brigitte Luciani and Eve Tharlet’s series can delight with original solutions, but not only – it is simply worth reading, alone (for children 5+) or with parents, carers, relatives.
