The famous actor and film producer was born on November 17, 1944 in New Jersey. Although he became one of the most recognizable Hollywood personalities, he did not always associate his future with an acting career. He is a hairdresser by training and initially worked in the profession together with his sister, whom he said was “like a big thorn in the royal ass” . In order to free himself from her influence, at the age of 19 he left for New York, with the intention of taking a professional course in makeup. In reality, however, Danny’s life took a different turn. He attended the American Academy of Dramatical Arts in make-up classes, where he found out that it was acting that he wanted to devote to. So he started attending an acting course there, and then full-time studies to give up cosmetics permanently.
Although he had already performed in plays in elementary school, he made his real debut in the film Dreams of Glass in 1969. He later made a cameo appearance in Woody Allen’s The Banana Top , but the real breakthrough for his career was the role of Martini in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest . Increasingly, he was involved in film productions, and after his role in the comedy series Taxi , his career gained real momentum. He then became truly recognizable in Hollywood circles. He has appeared in productions such as Love, Emerald and Crocodile as Ralph, Batman Returns as “The Penguin”, The Martians Attack!in the role of Rude Gambler.
