It’s summer and children make noise under the trees. But for other animals, childhood is long gone, and few of them remember it. Maybe it is worth finding them again? – we read in the blurb on the back cover of the reviewed proposal for the youngest.
Summer, summer – we miss you!
Once again, the script writer and graphic designer is DAV, that is David Augereau. In the latest proposal by the French artist, we get to know several heroes – younger and older inhabitants of the village: a little mouse and two little foxes, Mr. Owl and Mr. Toad. Szkraby use the beautiful weather to play in a small pond near the seniors’ homes. Their joyful games arouse the reluctance of elders who have already forgotten what it is like to be a child. Can a coincidence cause generations to get along and the story will have a happy ending? Maybe. My first 5+ comic book Such an Owl Summer is the next volume in the series In the shade of trees ; its plot, however, does not refer to its predecessors, so you can read it without knowing the previous Egmont proposals.
For the little ones
I received the comic today and I am eager to read it. The series surprised me again – the characters are different, which makes us observe situations from many perspectives. The older generation initially does not accept the loud entertainment of the youngest, but over time they begin to notice that in fact anthropomorphized heroes do nothing wrong – because they enjoy their vacation! Discovering a child in oneself is a process, although – as we will notice in the comic – sometimes one stimulus is enough to change our life. And it’s for the better! The translator of the reviewed volume is again Ernest Kacperski, who had some more work here. The heroes’ dialogues are not particularly complex, but require consistency and lightness. The album proposed by the Świat Komiksu Club delights with its simplicity of history,
My first comic 5+
In the shade of trees. Such an owl summer is another book intended for the youngest readers. Children can read it alone or with their parents. The heroes of the stories will surely delight you because – I can assure you – they can be liked! The added value is that miniature dialogues allow you to use the comic in the education of the youngest, and the story, read in January or February, will bring back fantastic summer memories. These are other reasons why such an owl summer is worth having!
