For the youngest – review of the comic book “In the shade of trees. A breath of winter “, vol. 2

If you are at the stage of searching for a comic book for your child, take a look at the latest album from the series In the shade of trees . You will surely like the adventures of a fox who, due to his shyness, cannot establish a closer relationship with a representative of the same species.

Winter is playing tricks

The author of the script and the creator of the graphics is DAV, i.e. David Augereau – a French artist who draws his inspiration from the Disney universe. The main character of the album is a slightly clumsy fox who does not know how to talk to a beautiful fox. The winter aura does not help the protagonist overcome his fears – he feels cold, falls many times on the slippery snow, trips over stones, catches a scarf on protruding parts of a tree or falls into a lake. The reader carefully observes the expression of the protagonist’s emotions, which are drawn on the animal’s face. Nevertheless, the exclamation marks that appear in large numbers on the pages of the comic also suggest the fox’s emotional states (delight, surprise, fear …). The discussed book proposal is undoubtedly one of the most original proposals in the “my first comic 5+” category.

For the little ones

The comic in question is a small booklet, published as the second in the series In the shade of trees . The previous one is called Mr. Zuckle’s Autumn and tells the story of a badger who likes nothing and gets irritated by everything (autumn chandra …). In the mini album Blast of winterthe protagonist also has a hard time – he has to carefully look if he is not treading on too thin ice, both literally and metaphorically. There aren’t many dialogues in the comic, they are rather the shouts of the hero. Nevertheless, the translator – Ernest Kacperski – coped with the translation very well and the album proposed by the Comic World Club is a pleasant story, the plot of which can delight. DAV shows how to overcome your own weaknesses, even if initially there is no indication of the possibility of success.

My first comic 5+

In the shade of trees. Breath of Winter is a book intended for the youngest readers, for independent reading or reading with their parents. The protagonist’s facial expressions and gestures will surely delight you, and the dialogues will enable a fantastic reading with the youngest! Reading together can be fun at the same time, if we use exclamation marks functionally – children can react to the hero’s adventures by shouting “oh!”, “Ha, ha!”, “Grr”, “aaj!”. Scenes that will surely evoke positive emotions will be played out in the forest covered with white fluff. I highly recommend it (on this winter day)!

PS. Take a look at the end paper. You can admire the process of creating heroes in the graphics. Masterpiece!
