The organizers have already announced all (over 70!) Guests and there are names among them that cannot be ignored. What awaits us at the convention?
Fantasy Online Convention is a convention of fantasy fans, created with the Internet presence in mind. The organizers have various other initiatives, but Focon has designed 100% from scratch, precisely with the aim of ensuring that everyone can have the best fun at home. It will take place this weekend, which is April 24 and 25.
Panels, lectures and meetings as well as a convention at the convention inn await the participants. The convention restaurant on Focon will be virtual like the whole event. It will take the form of a map with interactive tables, which, when clicked, will take you to Google Meet videoconferences, where other fans will be waiting for you to hang out, chat and play with.
Focon is 100% Live. You will also be able to talk and ask your guests questions, just like at a prepandemic, stationary convention. Who else joined the convention team, apart from the authors we already know ? The Darwin Film Group, i.e. Jan Jurkowski and Marek Hucz, who runs a YouTube channel, creating humorous video materials on various topics, will definitely appear. Who doesn’t know Sławek and Rafał ?! We will also see Marlena and Marian Siwiak, debut authors of science fiction literature. Pharmacon consists of two volumes and if you are curious about the history, check out our review . Wydawnicywo IX will present its exhibition, which will start the presale of the book by Bruno Grigori, Bad Man , especially for the convention . The guests of the convention will also be Michał Gołgowski, Arkady Saulski, Andrzej Ziemniański, Andrzej Pilipiuk, Magdalena Kozak and Krzysiek Sokołowski – the vocalist of the band Nocny Kochanek . Magdalena Kucenty and Mateusz Szymański from CD Projekt RED will appear. The event will also feature foreign characters such as Guy Gavriel Kay, Matt Ruff, Peter V. Brett, Ilona Andrews, Rebecca F. Kuang, Jack Campbell, and Regina Kanyu Wang.
Focon is completely free, but funding is needed to organize it. Therefore, we encourage you to buy a ticket or a plush seal to support the organizers of the convention and bring everyone closer to Focon 2.0. As a thank you for your help, various bonuses are available with the purchase of the ticket:
- a previously unpublished short story by Tomasz Kamiński – a guest of Focon, – early access to Focon 1.0 materials on YouTube (normally they will be made available gradually until the next edition, but those who buy a ticket will have access to them within a maximum of 2 weeks after the event)
