After last year’s Xbox Games Showcase, the developer of GSC Game World finally stepped out of the shadows and made itself known again: he has just presented a 7-minute gameplay from the latest STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, the sequel to the award-winning and beloved series. We were able not only to see how advanced the production is and how well it presents itself, but also to know the date of its premiere. Make a note of April 28, 2022, because that’s when the game will go on sale. If you want to know if it is worth waiting, see for yourself and watch the material for yourself:
The upcoming game will be a mix of a first-person shooter, simulation, but also a horror game set in a well-known but now open world – the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. This place in the world of STALKER is unique, and at the same time dangerous. However, it still has a lot to offer, so it is full of daredevils who will sacrifice their lives to obtain the treasures hidden there. And there are many opportunities to lose it, because Chernobyl is a radiation site, full of mutants and anomalies just waiting to be explored.
Looking at the above gameplay fragment, the title is so far one of the better looking next-generation games to date at E3. Undoubtedly, STALKER 2 will use the full potential of PCs and consoles of the latest generation and therefore will not be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In the Heart of Chernobyl you will be able to play on Xbox X-Series, S Series Xbox and PC. It is not known whether the title will also be released on PlayStation, as it was not mentioned during the presentation. However, according to rumors, STALKER will be an Xbox exclusive title for a while, but we can expect it later also on PS5.
