Fiction vs reality – review of the comic book “Cyberpunk 2077. Big City Dreams”, vol. 4

Big City Dreams , is another after Where’s Johnny? comic book by Bartosz Sztybor. Will the writer from CD Projekt Red serve readers an interesting and addictive story this time?

A modest farm vs dynamic Night City

The plot in the fourth volume of Cyberpunk 2077 focuses on two places. On the one hand, we have a village and a farmer with his family, and on the other, a colorful, full of violence and all kinds of entertainment big city where Tasha and Mirek live – they deal with petty theft. She dreams of becoming a boss in Night City, while he seeks more peace. Two such different characters try to fight together in a brutal reality. Speaking of the world, it’s thanks to braindansyou can fly away to fantasy land. The possibilities are huge – either play the role of a black annihilator, or see for yourself what life on a small farm would be like … I watched with great interest two such different kids who were trying to get something for themselves. I liked the interweaving of the threads of these two characters along with the events taking place on the form. All this shows that, as the description in the comic says – you can either run at breakneck speed or die.

The extraordinary beauty of braindance

Two cartoonists are responsible for the graphic design. One depicts frames taking place on a farm, and the other in Night City. The scenes depicting the big city are more chaotic, dynamic, and very colorful. The farm, on the other hand, appears as a cozy and peaceful place where time passes slowly. I especially liked the look of the farmer, especially his beard that has changed over the years. I like the style of both artists. Some frames are not very detailed, but both artists skillfully convey the atmosphere of a large city or village. The release maintains the level of the previous three parts. I have doubts about the size of this item. With each subsequent comic book, we get a thinner and thinner notebook. I hope that the fifth volume will be even thicker than Trauma Team for a change .

Is it worth going to Night City?

I appreciate the ideas of Bartosz Sztybor. Where is Johnny? I really liked his books, as well as Dreams of a Big City . In my opinion, the latest Cyberpunk 2077 comic book looks the best in terms of plot. It presents a short but interesting period in the life of two young kids colliding with the brutal reality of Night City. Thanks to the very decent and atmospheric graphics, this is the best volume in the Cyberpunk 2077 series for me at the moment . I haven’t had a chance to play a game by CD Projekt Red yet, but with each new comic, this world intrigues me more and more! I can’t wait to see what new ideas the writers will serve in the next volumes!
