Great expedition
The first thing that catches your eye is an interesting vision of the world. As a result of natural disasters and other events, the great civilization of the Ancestors fell and left its ruins behind. The heroes of Przetainathey willingly penetrate the rubble in search of useful items. They can be metal objects or just tiles! However, as it turns out, this tragedy may repeat itself. For this reason, an expedition is sent to find a new place to settle the followers of the cat-headed goddess Nefem and the Father of the Hundred Worlds. Of course, the main character becomes a member of the expedition. The protagonist is a teenager named Dave. He is hardworking, modest, and cares most of all for others. His beloved plans to devote herself to serving the gods, which may end his plans for the future. In addition, Tyra also plays an important role – a young savage who wants to become a hairdresser! There are a dozen more heroes on the pages of the novel. The positives evoke sympathy, and the antagonists are impossible to like. It is worth emphasizing
Six heroes
The story is even addictive, thanks to an interesting universe. It is pleasant to follow in the footsteps of the heroes and observe their struggles with other tribes and nature. At one point I even thought that Pilipiuk would surprise me by turning everything upside down, but in the end the sudden twist turned out to be much less spectacular. I also liked the ending. I was convinced that the next part would not be complete, while the author literally put everything together nicely in the last pages. It was so neat enough that I am more or less able to figure out for myself what happened next. Nothing stands in the way of creating a continuation, and at the same time the ending is very satisfying.
Cracked roof tiles
Usually, I had a maximum of one typo when dealing with a book published by Fabryka Słów. This time, surprisingly, there is something to fault, because I counted over five. Most of them are just minor mistakes that do not hinder reading, although there was also a flower: “The land is crossed by the paths of the Ancestors”. Fortunately, you can guess from the content that it is more about mountains. In addition, I don’t like the illustrations in the book, but it’s just a matter of taste, after all, what’s more important is the content. Though to tell you the truth, I wouldn’t be offended if the map was posted.
Is it worth worshiping the goddess Nefem?
The latest book by Andrzej Pilipiuk did not make a great impression on me. I am not disappointed in any way, but I am also not delighted. The story was interesting, the world created by the Great Grafoman has its own unique charm. I was especially captivated by the elements more characteristic of the post-apo climate, i.e. fallen civilizations and exploring the ruins of the city. All in all, it was a really enjoyable adventure! This book is very good and quick to read. If there is a sequel one day, I would probably love to have a look, but I won’t be expecting it with a flushed face.
