Testral
In my opinion, the Thestrals are one of the most interesting animals in the world of Harry Potter . Although all students have used their help to get to school since their sophomore year at Hogwarts, few realize it, and even fewer see it. Why is this happening?
The condition for seeing them is to witness someone’s death. Although the main character was with his mother when she was treated with the Avada Kedavra spell , the explanation is that he was too small to be aware of what happened. At the beginning of the fifth year, he is shocked when the carriages, which seem to magically move by themselves, are actually pulled by these amazing animals. Their looks may scare you off, but they are cute in my opinion. They resemble a pegasus skeleton covered with black leather, have white, empty eyes, and instead of feathers on their wings, a membrane resembling that of bats. They are carnivorous, but harmless unless provoked.
The Thestrals become the heroes of the lesson on magical animals, although most students only see meat disappearing into the air, and then help Harry reach the Ministry of Magic, although part of the group still does not see them. They are very smart and will deliver their rider wherever he wants to go (such an improved GPS). Their uniqueness is also evidenced by the fact that only one and the most powerful wand, one of the Insignia created by Death itself, has a thestral hair as its core. – Katarzyna Satława
