Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets Now Available on Blu-ray ™ and DVD!

After 4 years from the premiere of the previous installment of the story, we return to the world of magic to once again face the insidious wizard who tries to take over the world of magic. This time, the whole team of Newt Scamander will stand in his way, thoughtfully directed by the greatest of wizarding minds – Professor Albus Dumbledore.

It was Dumbledore who, since his first appearance on the screen more than 20 years ago, has earned himself the title of the most admired among wizards. In the third part of the Fantastic Beasts series, we can finally get to know the mysterious past of the professor, which, as it turns out, will play an important role in the development of events in the magical universe. The film’s director, David Yates, recalls :

Dumbledore is a really important figure in the world of JK Rowling. In the Harry Potter books and movies, he is mysterious, alluring, and seems to be omniscient. So we wanted to see the younger Dumbledore in the formation period, which would ultimately define him as the man he would later become.

In turn, re-impersonating Dumbledore, Jude Law says:

There were some mentions of this in the previous movie, but this is where we can finally delve into the history of his relationship with Gellert Grindelwald.

David Heyman, producer of the film adds:

It is a story of loyalty, but also loyalty to the wrong cause. About making mistakes and being able to withdraw from them. I think this is a very universal topic because we all experience regret in our lives for our wrong choices. I think these threads will resonate with the audience particularly strongly.

Brilliantly played this time by Mads Mikkelsen, the antagonist Gellert Grindelwald, who has been pursued for several years for his radical beliefs and brutal methods of action, emerges from the shadows, ready more than ever to carry out his carefully planned plot. He will try to take control of the entire wizarding world and declare total war on the Muggles. This time, however, not acting outside the law, but inside the system, using it to implement its own assumptions, it becomes more dangerous than ever before.

The basis for the script, written by JK Rowling and Steve Kloves, is an original story by Rowling, and behind the camera was David Yates, known from the previous two films (and the last three Harry Potter films). On the screen we can see well-known characters played flawlessly by the usual excellent actors – Eddie Redmayne once again impresses as an eccentric Newt Scamander, and Jude Law shows an amazing interpretation of Dumbledore full of secrets. The only significant difference from the previous films is Gellert Grindelwald, played this time by Mads Mikkelsen. Endowed with an undoubted talent for playing the villains, the Dane was a great fit in the construction of the world and recorded a performance after which there is no doubt about the decision to cast him in this role.

Dumbledore’s secrets are the next installment of the well-liked and consistently constructed series. Once again, we can also see the title fantastic animals – carefully described in the script by Rowling and perfectly recreated by special effects specialists – which are an important part of the world presented in the film. Once again, we can also see dozens of beautiful locations: the film takes place in China, New York or Hogwarts, and the German Ministry of Magic, located in Berlin, plays an extremely important role.

Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets debuted in Polish cinemas on April 7, 2022. Since then, almost 800,000 viewers have seen it. On July 13, it will be released on 4K ULTRA HD, Blu-ray ™ and DVD media.
