The mighty Empire that rules the entire galaxy is not only a military machine, but also an economic one. Hence the need to have agents who will ensure its smooth operation. In short: James Bond in the "Star Wars" version.
An ominous Empire after the Civil War took control of the known universe, and Chancellor Palpatine became the ruler who rules all planets with an iron hand. Every child knows that this political and military structure represented pure evil. However, not everyone is aware that despite the genocide and other acts of terror that sparked its rise, the Empire brought some kind of peace. The feuding planets and groups have stopped fighting. While they did it under the heels of Palpatine and his followers, it somehow stopped further bloodshed.
What does an Imperial agent work like?
Jahan Cross is one of the emperor’s iron fists – it is an ace of intelligence like no other. This is the younger, blonde version of James Bond. However, he, unlike her royal highness’s best agent, has an even greater scale of activities, because they cover not the British empire, but the entire cosmos. A humble agent will track down all abuses, dishonesty and alluring women. He will be as ruthless in inflicting punishments as the condemned to their victims. All in the name of the Empire! Jahan knows his actions are one of the building blocks to keep the galaxy at peace. But what will happen when he begins to discover the facts that his beloved country was not built on the decent foundations he thought?

Who makes up the Empire?
John Ostrander is one of the most prolific writers to fill the Star Wars universe with their stories. It’s hard for a self-respecting fan of this universe not to read at least a few of his stories. All of them are characterized by the fact that they are really decently written … but usually they do not stand out above decency. Ostrander is a sure thing – his stories will never tire the reader, although they will most likely be forgotten as soon as they are read. This scriptwriter specializes in plots based on a large dose of action, but it is difficult to say that the characters presented show any depth. In the Agent of the Empireit alludes to the Agent 007 series of films and maintains a tendency to focus on chases and shootouts, and only then on the thoughts of individual characters. Nevertheless, among such titles, the story of Ostrander comes out unscathed, because it is read quickly and pleasantly.
The graphic design is the responsibility of a team of French cartoonists: Stéphane Roux and Stéphane Créty. They created a simple but clear vision of the world. There is no particular artistry here, but the characters or locations are shown with straight lines, although suggesting that if the authors had more space for spreads, the effect of their work could make an even better impression.

The value of agents increases with each action
So what more can be said about this story? It is correct in every aspect. An interesting, but not particularly ambitious scenario and decent drawings that do not delight, but also do not reject, put this comic book on the shelf of nice readers. Its greatest advantage is undoubtedly the fact that it focuses on looking at the conflict from the other side. It is true that there are attempts to justify the Rebellion here, but let’s be honest – in a conflict of this scale, both sides would be behind their ears.
