After the tragic death of Charles Blaine and his wife, the protector of the orphaned MacKenzie and Zach is “Uncle Chase”, who broke off contact with his brother years ago. To ensure the safety and stability of the children, he takes them to the town of Cape Augusta, where the seat of the Blaine family is located. The three of them live in an old house, raised above a deep, gloomy swamp that hides family secrets.
