Entertainment for the perceptive – review of the game “Dobble Marvel Emoji”

Rarely on the market you can find party games that are both incredibly addictive and develop the ability to think logically. The Dobble Marvel Emoji by Denis Blanchot, Guillaume Gille-Naves and Igor Polouchine by Rebel is one such gem.

This banally simple, compact and dynamic card game – because that’s what you can call it – will provide a lot of fun, especially to those players who do not like long-term “unfolding” of games. The reason is, among others a small number of its elements. In a small, metal box we find 55 cards cut in the shape of a circle. Each of them has 8 comic symbols from the Marvel universe. In addition, the package contains a short manual with the rules of the game and its variants, as well as a historical curiosity describing the beginnings of the Dobble series .

A key element of the game that we must remember is that there is always 1 common symbol on any 2 cards. Regardless of which variant of the game we choose, the main goal of players is to find a pair of identical symbols on two different cards and name them aloud. I must admit that at first glance, some of the pictures were not so obvious to me, which is why I referred to them as “blatantly”, such as: “that guy with blonde hair”, who turned out to be Captain Marvel, or “Hulk’s Pia”, described in the manual of the famous one – green muscle liner: “Hulk crush!”. If you are looking for a challenge or you want to show your rivals the knowledge of the Marvel universe, I recommend that you read the descriptions of individual symbols in the manual before starting the game.

There are five variants in the game, which makes the gameplay more varied.

I recommend it with all my heart, especially since Dobble is a cult brand that has been on the market for many years. The position amuses, improves reflexes, memory and makes us smarter in terms of precisely naming the objects we see or the elements of a specific lore (in this case, Marvel).
