Zane goes to school
The hero has spent the last few months looking for the Godborn . He was accompanied by a demon that could literally smell them from a distance. All went well until it turned out that one of the targets was twins, hoping to save the mysterious artifact from falling into the wrong hands. However, there is a much more positive outlook for Zan – he is to start studying at the Shaman Institute of Higher Magic. There, in addition to studying, he will reunite with his best friend, Brooks. When it finally gets there, education is the last thing on the mind. The Mayan gods are gone and the godbornthey are in danger. Kamazotz and Ixquic need the aforementioned artifact to grant the protagonists the same fate as the deities. Zane and friends set off on a journey to the past. There, every slightest mistake can affect the present known to them so far.
We are not slowing down
In The Shadow Wanderer , Zane’s story comes to an end, but it does not mean that we will not experience an interesting and amazing adventure with him. The author in the third volume does not slow down, drawing us into the world of Mayan mythology from the first pages. There is also a glossary at the end of the book, in which we can find information about the characters and names used in the novel. I haven’t noticed a major change in the characters’ behavior, but I don’t consider it a complaint. In addition, I must say that in terms of the amount of adventure, this is probably the best part of the series. JC Cervantes did quite a feat, creating an extremely interesting series. It rarely happens that each subsequent volume is better than its predecessor.
Summary
The Shadow Wanderer turned out to be the best installment in the series about the adventures of Zane Obispo. The author’s work can make a very good impression. This series was also my first encounter with Mayan mythology in literature and it was a very interesting experience! I spent many wonderful times with Zane and his friends. However, everything must come to an end sometime.
