“Empik does not rule out further termination of contracts in locations where it will be permanently impossible to conduct profitable operations under the current lease conditions. Negotiations are currently underway to modify the lease terms, reflecting the new economic reality, ”said the press release.
The group forecasts that due to the state of the epidemic, shopping centers will record significant drops in footfall, and the shopping habits of some customers will permanently change and they will be more willing and more likely to use online shopping.
