Little is known about the title other than what we wrote about here . Certainly, however, one of the most interesting information we know is participation in George RR Martin’s project. This writer is arguably one of the most popular fantasy creators, authoring the A Song of Ice and Fire series (screened by HBO as Game of Thrones ) and other novels from this universe. Until now, however, the details of his role in the development of a new game from FromSoftware were unknown.
Fortunately, in a recent interview by WTTW, Martin revealed a secret about his collaboration with the producer. He admitted that he did not like video games, but when approached for help, he agreed. In this way, he became responsible for an essential element of the Elden Ring , creating the foundations of his world. So he wrote his story and created heroes who inhabited it. Then FromSoftware took the effects of his work and adapted it to the game that we could see at the past Summer Game Fest.
Interestingly, all of this happened a few years ago. George RR Martin emphasized that a long time had passed since he intervened in the creation of the title. Since his work became the basis for the remainder of the project, there was no such necessity. However, the creators of the Elden Ring occasionally share with the writer the progress of the project and show him how it develops. Saying this, he admitted that he “is as excited as everyone else” so that he can finally see the game in all its glory.
At the moment, the premiere of the Elden Ring is scheduled for the beginning of next year, on January 21. The title will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC.
