During the DC Fandome convention, we got to know a lot of information about announcements and teasers of upcoming productions from Detective Comics. Among them we got our first glance at the movie “Black Adam”.
The filming has not yet started, however, during the event, graphics and a movie with Johnson’s narration were presented, which presented the genesis of his character:
5,000 years ago, the country of Kahndaq was a melting pot of magic and strength. Most of us only had chains around our necks. Kahndaq needed a hero, he got me instead. I did what had to be done and was captured instead. Now, 5,000 years later, I am free. And I promise you … no one can stop me anymore.
Johnson pojawił się na panelu DC FanDome poświęconemu „Black Adamowi”, gdzie opowiedział co nieco o swoim bohaterze:
Jest wiele różnych wersji Black Adama, w których zakochaliśmy się na przestrzeni lat, ale jedno mogę obiecać – ten Black Adam jest najbardziej odpowiedni do naszej historii, do historii jego poznania. To bohater, który posiada wszystkie cechy, które my kochamy.
Aktor dodał też, że postać jest „bezwzględnym strażnikiem sprawiedliwości”:
Jest sędzią, ławą przysięgłych i wykonawcą kary. Wierzy w zasadę ,,oko za oko” i zrobi wszystko, by chronić swoich ludzi i jeszcze więcej, by chronić swoją rodzinę.
Superbohaterowie często muszą zachowywać ostrożność, gdy walczą ze złoczyńcami lub ratują swoich bliskich. Ale pomysł jest taki, że Black Adam używa swoich mocy bez żadnych ograniczeń. To jest niebezpieczna kombinacja, którą łatwo polubić – przynajmniej według mnie.
Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Cyclone and Atom Smasher, i.e. representatives of the Justice Society of America. The director of the film is Jaume Collet-Serra, and the shooting is to start in September 2020 (they were delayed by several months due to the coronavirus). For now, the release date has been set for December 2021, but it may change depending on the situation in the world.
