Dragon Age 4 loses another creator

Everything indicates that the future of the series is not too optimistic. Since the premiere of the last part in 2014, fans have not received any specific information about the next installment, and more members of the band are leaving.

Bioware studio suffered its first losses at the end of 2020, when executive producer Mark Darrah and main manager Casey Hudson decided to leave. Both have long been associated with the Dragon Age universe , and their departure left fans concerned about the future of the game. This uncertainty was heightened by the fact that since 2014 fans have been waiting for the premiere of the newest part, without having any detailed information about the game. Almost a year later, the creative director responsible for Dragon Age 4 – Matt Goldman decided to leave the studio .

He has worked in Bioware since 1998, being involved in productions such as Baldur’s Gate and Jade Empire . as well as earlier installments of the Dragon Age series taking over in 2017 the role of the senior creative director of the fourth installment. However, no detailed reasons were given for Goldman’s departure from the studio. Gary McKay, the general manager, only announced that the decision to end the cooperation was made by mutual agreement, and Matt Goldman leaves the project in great hands. McKay also emphasized that this will in no way have a negative impact on the implementation of the game, which will be maintained in a typical Bioware standard.

Despite optimistic assurances, 7 years after the premiere of Dragon Age: Inquisition , fans still do not know what to expect. Both about the plot of the game and the gameplay, nothing is known. The approximate release date is also unknown, although the developers describe Dragon Age 4 as their key project. So it looks like fans of Thedas world need a little more patience.
