One for all, all for one! On Children’s Day, on May 27th, D’Artacán y los tres Mosqueperros will hit theaters. This is a film for children, based on an animated series that people on several continents loved.
The classic novel by Alexander Dumas , The Three Musketeers , which inspired the authors, has inspired filmmakers from the very beginning of the history of cinema. The creators of the animations started using the theme of brave sword masters as early as the 1950s. The most popular animated musketeers appeared in the 1980s thanks to the Japanese-Spanish series that won a loyal audience in 150 countries around the world. In addition to the dog musketeers, it also featured a sneaky mouse and a treacherous cat as Milady.
The creator of the series, Claudio Biern Boyd, known as the Spanish Walt Disney , was watching over the contemporary version of Dogtanian . As he confessed in an interview, Dogtanian was born out of his love for Dumas and Snoopy, as well as his love for dogs.
I hope that viewers who liked the series as children or teenagers will now be happy to watch a movie with their own children – he said.
Director Toni García recalled that he spent half a decade on the film:
I would like to respect the original with the utmost respect. He assured him that no one was going to change or correct Dumas . – We removed characters from the far-away that were not in the novel, but who appeared in the series. The series needed more plot and more characters – the movie didn’t .
The young Dogtanian dreams of following in his father’s footsteps and joining the king’s guard. In search of adventures, he goes to Paris with the horse Ptyś. He is accompanied by Pic, a clever and talkative mouse who is great as a squire. After a daring display of their skills, the Dogtanian gains the respect and trust of three famous musketeers: Atos, Portos and Aramis. These brave canine four will have to defend the king from a plot by the wicked Cardinal Richelieu to seize power. Will Dogtanian manage to become a Musketeer and win the heart of beautiful Juliette?
