DLC for “Horizon Forbidden West” available after completing the story

Players of the hit  Horizon Forbidden West are currently waiting for the Burning Shores expansion . It turns out that in order to start the DLC storyline, the main storyline will have to be completed first.

Horizon Forbidden West’s main storyline  will apparently need to be completed in order to play the upcoming  Burning Shores DLC . The Horizon series is one of PlayStation’s newest and most successful franchises. After years spent on  Killzone  , developer Guerilla Games decided to change the style a bit and moved from FPS games to third-person open-world RPGs that use bows and arrows instead of rifles and shotguns. It wasn’t what fans expected from the studio, but the move paid off nonetheless. The games turned out to be a huge success, both commercially and in the opinion of critics. The new brand has already had a sequel, a spin-off using VR goggles, and even its own adaptation on Netflix. Now fans are waiting for a new expansion to  Horizon Forbidden West .

According to a new PlayStation video, the upcoming Burning Shores will require players to complete the main story before they can play the expansion. It is not known whether access to the DLC will be literally blocked before completing the game, or maybe it’s because  Burning Shores starts in the location where the main story ends. Either way, owners of Horizon Forbidden West still have some time to finish the game before April 19. In the footage, we hear a call from Sylens that introduces the player to the expansion’s story, so you’ll probably need to meet him in the main storyline before the DLC goes live. Some add-ons simply require you to reach a certain point in the game for reasons of story coherence, or to get the key equipment available later in the game.

Guerrilla Games is pretty infrequent on new plot details for Burning Shores right now  , but fans can look forward to a trip to Los Angeles. Forbidden West has seen gamers head to the west coast, and Guerilla Games will apparently take full advantage of this. The DLC is also expected to be Lance Reddick’s final appearance as Sylens in the  Horizon universe.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will be released on April 19.
