In Olaf Present, a beloved snowman will refresh classic Disney hits. It seems as if the proposal was tailored to the voice skills of Josh Gad, who likes to present other titles on social media. Bringing older Disney hits back to its time is a logical and brilliant decision. Disney + Day, a full-day celebration of the creation of Disney +, is the perfect time to premiere the production, along with other programs and short inserts. Frozen characters will also appear during the Ice Rush broadcast . The platform made a splash with last year’s premiere of There Was a Snowman .
Comicbook.com had the chance to attend a virtual press conference about Olaf Presents . They found out what motivated the team to revive the characters once more. Becky Bresee related:
I can say that Olaf has overwhelming optimism and honesty, and that certainly never gets old. It motivates us and it often knocks us off our feet, but Olaf always takes the lead with his never-ending optimism and sweetness. I think it’s a hi to all of us, but maybe we’d like to have more. In a way, it is inspiring.
Trent Correy confessed:
I grew up in the 90’s watching Disney movies. I love Aladdin , it is my favorite production and character. I wondered what I love the most about genies, and it turned out that being funny, shapeshifting, and being honest attracted me so much. From an animator’s point of view, Olaf is everyone’s favorite animated character because he has so many emotions. As Becky mentioned, she is connected with her sisters, but also has fun when she breaks up.
In Olaf Presents, the main character enters the spotlight and transforms from a snowman to a showman. He plays the role of producer, actor, costume guy and set builder in his own unique way to re-introduce five of Disney’s favorite animations. It will be a series of short, animated proposals from Walt Disney Animation Studios. The charismatic and versatile Olaf with his theatrical talent will play the unforgettable roles of the mermaid, genie, lion king (and most of the characters in the film), thus entertaining Arendelle with his delightful, shortened versions of his beloved stories. Josh Gad returns to play Olaf. Hyrum Osmond took over the directing and Jennifer Newfield in production.
Olaf Present is coming to Disney + Day November 12.
