The movie is a return to the series aired on television 30 years ago. It will be a hybrid acting and computer comedy. The action is set to follow the characters as if they were actors from the Disney Afternoon television series currently living in contemporary Los Angeles. According to the official summary of Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers , Chip and Dale live among cartoons and people in modern-day Los Angeles, but their lives are completely different now. It’s been decades since their TV series got canceled and Chip gave in to suburban life as an insurance salesman. Dale has meanwhile undergone CGI surgery and works at a nostalgia convention, desperate to regain his glory days. Meanwhile, their former cast partner disappears. Chip and Dale must mend a broken friendship and become the detectives again and save their friend’s life.
The main characters will be voiced by John Mulaney as Chipa and Andy Samberg as Dale. The cast also includes Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Flula Borg, Dennis Haysbert, Keegan-Michael Key and JK Simmons. The film will be directed by Akiva Schaffer and written by Dana Gregor and Doug Manda.
Recall that the original series Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers (known as the RR Brigade ) was created in 1989 by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove. The series characters have been transformed into the style of Indiana Jones and Thomas Magnum. The team also included the genius engineer Gadget, obsessed with Monterey Jack cheese (Rokfor) and the Zipper fly (Bzyczek).
