Disney+ exposes The Mandalorian . The site announced on Monday that Behind the Scenes/Star Wars: The Mandalorian returns next month with The Making of Season 3 , an all-new special that shows what goes on behind the scenes of the show’s recently aired third season.

Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian premiered in 2020 as an eight-part documentary series that explored various aspects of the first live-action Star Wars franchise  – direction, cast, effects and more – before returning as a two-part special for Season 2. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian – The Making of Season 3  will premiere on June 28 on  Disney+ .

After reuniting in The Book of Boba Fett, the third season of The Mandalorian follows Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu on a pilgrimage to Mandalore so that the Mandalorian can redeem himself for removing his helmet in the season 2 finale . Din and Grogu traverse the galaxy with their ally Bo-Katan Kryze ( Katee Sackhoff ), who seeks to unite the Mandalorian tribes and restore Mandalore . however _   Imperial Moff Gideon ( Giancarlo Esposito ) appears to enact a plot he started in the first season , which threatens to complete the Great Purge of Mandalore that nearly wiped out the Mandalorians .

Din Djarin and Grogu will return for the fourth season of  The Mandalorian : According to series creator and showrunner Jon Favreau, the fourth season was written before the WGA writers’ strike halted production across the industry.

We need to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story. We’ve planned it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and we’re slowly starting to write each episode. I wrote it during post-production [season 3]. It all has to feel like a continuation and one complete story. With The Mandalorian and upcoming spin-offs,  Ahsoka  and  Skeleton Crew , tying into Filoni’s theatrical Star Wars movie . [Dave] does Ahsoka , which I produce with him. He is the writer and showrunner of it. To understand what’s going on in the other shows… Skeleton Crew are all set within the same Star Wars timeline. There are so many more things we need to keep in mind, as well as things we’ve built up from previous seasons of  The Mandalorian.

Favreau told BFM television .

All eight episodes of  Star Wars: The Mandalorian season three are now available on Disney+. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian – The Making of Season 3 will premiere on June 28.
