This is how a god is described in the Percy Jackson universe . Note that this will be one of Edge’s first Hollywood projects since he returned to WWE in January 2020.
The wrestler will join the cast already consisting of Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Leah Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood) and others. He is the second of twelve Olympians to be cast in production, along with Jason Mantzoukas as the wine god Dionysus.
In The Lightning Thief, the first novel about the son of Poseidon (which the first season of the series will be based on), Ares is one of the main antagonists. The god of war interferes with Percy’s mission by sending him to retrieve his shield, which ultimately turns everything upside down. Considering the universe as a whole, Ares rather serves as an ally and also turns into his Roman counterpart, Mars.
Currently, Disney + has already completed the first half of work on the title. It was filmed for roughly chapter 16 of the Lightning Thief , which leaves only six more to do. Although the shots are not necessarily taken in chronological order, the scenes from Olympus and the Underworld are ready, as well as an atmospheric confrontation with the above-mentioned Ares.

I knew Adam was our Ares as soon as I saw the casting tape. He absolutely succeeded. This guy is just the Ares I imagined in Percy Jackson . He undoubtedly knew his role, loved it, and definitely had TOO much fun being a god of war. He even got a Harley-Davidson motorbike so he could practice riding and get into character. This is a sacrifice! Are you excited to see him with Percy Jackson? Me too!
Finally, it is also worth mentioning the selection of actresses for the roles of Medusa and Echidna. The former will be played by Jessica Parker Kennedy ( The Flash, Pirates) . As a snake-haired character, he will manage Aunty Em’s Emporium in the adaptation of the first chapters. We have already seen the acting version of this character performed by Uma Thurman (film adaptation from 2010). Echidna will be played by Suzanne Cryer ( Silicon Valley, Shameless: Niepokorni ). She will play an important role in Percy’s journey to St. Louis.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is expected to appear on the Disney + platform in 2024.
