The Disney100 Special features scenes from iconic movies, series, stage productions and theme parks, featuring Disney fans, and a collection of inspirational words from Walt Disney recalling the shared memories that have given Disney a special place in the hearts of viewers around the world.
The premiere of Disney100 – the big game special is an exciting milestone for Disney – heralds a year full of opportunities for families and fans of all ages to relive their special Disney memories and be enthralled by new heart-wrenching stories and experiences.
On Friday, February 17, the latest Marvel film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantomania, will have its cinema premiere . Then, on February 18, the D100 Exhibition will have its world premiere at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia . The exhibition will occupy an area of 1,394 square meters and will consist of ten galleries. Throughout the exhibition, Disney stories will be brought to life, all thanks to innovative and immersive technology. More than 250 “jewels in the crown” from the treasure trove of the Walt Disney Archives will be on display – rare original art and artifacts, costumes and props, theme park vehicles and much more. The exhibition will also make stops in other American cities and Europe (premiering in Munich on April 18, 2023).
Throughout the rest of the year, viewers around the world will enjoy amazing theatrical releases from our renowned studios including Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm. From The Little Mermaid and Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3 in May, to We Elemental , Indiana Jones and the Artifact of Destiny , The Marvels and The Haunted Mansion this summer. Both well-known and loved characters and new stories will come to life on the big screen. Then, on November 24, 2023, the original animated film The Wish from The Walt Disney Animation Studios will premiere in cinemas .
Already, Disney parks are wowing visitors with special Disney100 celebrations. On January 27, Disneyland Resort introduced a new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction, two new nightly shows: World of Color – One at Disney California Adventure and “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland Park, as well as all-new limited-time themed entertainment, dining and merchandise offerings Disney100. Disney parks around the world will also be offering surprises throughout the year to celebrate this momentous moment in history.
