This year’s The Game Awards once again did not disappoint when it comes to news. A lot of developers took part in the event, and each of them had something interesting to present. We present a list of game premieres for next year along with new trailers.
Players have been waiting for one of the most interesting gaming events in the world for weeks. The gala took place on December 9 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. There have already been a lot of rumors and leaks on social media about what upcoming titles will be presented during the event. The speech was on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gameplay presentation . The rumors turned out to be true, and not only in this case, because during the Game Awards we saw a lot of exciting announcements:

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon
FromSoftware is resurrecting Armored Core with the developer of Elden Ring, Dark Souls and many more games. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon was revealed at The Game Awards . The presentation was accompanied by a trailer and information on when the game might be released. Previously, fans of the series speculated a lot , hoping that FromSoftware would go back to work on a new installment. As before, the game does not yet have an exact release date, but it will be released sometime in 2023.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will allow players to control their own original mechs that they built themselves. They will be able to move freely through the 3D high-speed levels thanks to the 3D 3D maneuvers. The player will be able to enjoy a variety of activities that are only possible with mechs, such as facing difficult situations and incapacitating enemies with dynamic maneuvers that are entirely based on shooting and melee combat.
Final Fantasy XVI
After a long wait, the Square Enix crew has finally announced the release date for Final Fantasy XVI . At the beginning of this year, the Japanese presented a trailer for the next installment of the iconic RPG, setting the release window for summer 2023. Fans have been impatiently waiting for more information since then, but only now Square Enix has revealed more details about the new Final Fantasy, while informing when the title will go on sale.
After last week’s high- profile rumor , Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy XVI will be released on June 22, 2023. This will be almost three years after the company first announced that the game was in the works. In recent years, fans have been able to play Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy XIV , but it is worth noting that the premiere of the next full installment of the series will take place seven years after the last release.
Transformers: Reactivate
A short trailer for Transformers: Reactivate was played at The Game Awards . The newly announced game will be an online title for 1-4 players. It will appear on both consoles and PC. The trailer is quite short, but nevertheless gives a good insight into what players can expect from the gameplay. It also turns out that players will be able to control Transformers from a first-person perspective, and there will be a lot of Decepticons to defeat. The game is being developed by Splash Damage in cooperation with Hasbro, and players can follow the news about the title on the official website .
Looking at the trailer, it’s hard to tell which version of Transformers the new game is based on. The footage shown certainly looks inspired by Michael Bay movies. On the other hand, it is difficult to draw firm conclusions from one short fragment. The key graphics of the game refer to the iconic cover of Marvel’s Transformers #5 . Given the diverse inspirations, it is possible that Transformers: Reactivate will be a game that builds its own universe. For now, fans will have to wait patiently before learning more details.
Crash Team Rumble
During the gala, Activision unveiled a completely new game with Crash Bandicoot in the lead role. The team-based 4v4 online game features a cast of beloved characters from the series. The game will be released in 2023 and Toys for Bob, the studio behind Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, is working on it . Each character will have their own powers and abilities, and players will have to deliver the Wumpa Fruit to the opposite drop zone while defending their own.
Crash Team Rumble, although it has only just been officially announced, the development of the game has been known for a long time. Rumors of a new Crash called Wumpa League have been circulating since at least 2021. In June this year, Jez Corden from Windows Central revealed that Toys for Bob is working on a new installment. A few days after this, Liam Robertson of Did You Know Gaming shared concept art from the canceled version of Wumpa League , while also stating that the project had been rebooted. This is what prompted Corden to confirm information about the project.
Crime Boss: Rockay City
During The Game Awards, developer 505 Games unveiled its new project, Crime Boss: Rockay City . It will be a gangster first-person shooter set in 1990s Florida. The title, published by Epic Games, will feature an all-star cast from the world of action cinema. It will include: Michael Madsen, Danny Trejo, Danny Glover, Michael Rooker, Kim Basinger, Damon Poiter, Vanilla Ice, and even the Texas Ranger himself , Chuck Norris. The game will debut exclusively via the Epic Games Store on March 28. Console versions will follow later, but also at some point in 2023. 505 Games CEO Neil Ralley praised the talent and commitment put into the game in a press release.
The sheer amount of talent involved both on camera and in the development of Crime Boss is extremely exciting for 505 to be a part of it. We are thrilled to bring this truly unique organized crime game to players around the world.

Diablo 4
Diablo 4 also appeared at the Game Awards to finally reveal the release date and another trailer of the latest installment. According to Blizzard, the fourth will be released on June 6. This date was already the subject of some rumors when impatient players tried to set the release date themselves.
Prior to this announcement, the release date had allegedly already leaked online. However, given that more than one possible date was circulating the network, the leaks in question did not give much to determine. Players knew, however, that there would be a chance to play the beta before full release . The closed beta was already available to a select group, and Blizzard confirmed the plan to organize an unusual trial focused on endgame.
Baldur’s Gate 3
The iconic duo of Minsc and Boo are back in Baldur’s Gate 3 , and the game will be released next year. During the evening show, Larian Studios presented a new trailer, showing the return of the iconic guardian Minsc along with his space hamster, Boo. The new trailer also revealed that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released in August 2023.
The two mentioned heroes appeared in the two previous parts of Baldur as potential companions. At some point between the events of the second installment and the third installment, they were turned into a statue with the help of petrification magic. As shown in the Dungeons & Dragons comics written by Jim Zub, Minsc and Boo were eventually freed on the Sword Coast.
Death Stranding 2
Kojima’s Death Stranding was released in 2019 and immediately the gaming world was in an uproar. Players have been patiently waiting for more. During the Game Awards, Hideo Kojima finally revealed his new project. It will be Death Stranding 2 ! Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux and Troy Baker will return to the cast. Sam Bridges (the hero portrayed by Reedus) looks much older than in its predecessor. Kojima emphasized that he rewrote the entire story after experiencing the covid pandemic, but did not develop it much. He also said he was experimenting with different concepts in another game. During the gala, it was confirmed that Death Stranding 2 will be released on PlayStation 5 in the near future, but we do not know the exact date yet.
Hideo Kojima started mentioning the project a few months ago with cryptic posters. All three showed the image of the actress who will take part in it. This is Ella Fanning . Kojima is currently working on several productions at the same time, including an Xbox game and, according to rumors, a new horror game. Not much else is known about this, but it’s safe to say that the video game master has been very busy lately.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
The Survivor’s release date has finally been announced by EA and Respawn Entertainment along with a first look at the gameplay. Earlier this year, EA confirmed that a Fallen Order sequel is in development and will be released at some point in 2023. Since then, the publisher has been consistently silent about the long-awaited Star Wars adventure. Although fans were starting to get impatient, the long period of silence was finally broken during The Game Awards 2022.
Along with the new trailer, Electronic Arts has confirmed the previous leaks and announced that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released early next year, on March 17 to be exact. Pre-orders will open later this month, and EA will also reveal the amount of bonus content that pre-order buyers will receive. Unlike Fallen Order Jedi: The Survivor will only be available on current-gen consoles and PC.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
We got a whole new look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League , complete with a release date and the reveal of the Batman character voiced by the late Mr. Kevin Conroy. The actor died just a few weeks ago and has been the voice of the Dark Knight in games, animations, etc. for years. Many fans were saddened by this loss, and it was unclear if we would ever hear his voice from Batman’s mouth again at Rocksteady. Conroy as the Man-Bat eventually returns once more, and it looks like he’ll be as sinister to the Suicide Squad as the rest of the Justice League. This will, of course, be Conroy’s final performance as Batman, which seems like a good way to celebrate his legacy. Kill the Justice League release date is also confirmed. The game will be released on May 26, 2023.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a new cooperative action game in which we will play as: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark and Captain Boomerang. They are tasked with destroying the Justice League after they fall under Brainiac’s control. Needless to say, this is quite an interesting game concept and should result in truly epic battles for both teams.
Judas
The creator of the famous BioShock , Ken Levine, revealed his new project, which is Judas . BioShock is one of the best-rated games of all time, mainly thanks to its unique atmosphere and intricate storyline. The effect was supported by the fascinating world presented and the satisfying gameplay that evolved over the course of the sequel. Unfortunately, the franchise seemed to fade after the also successful BioShock Infinite from 2013. Developer Irrational Games has gone silent, as has the series itself. Levine started a new studio called Ghost Story Games, and they quietly worked on the new title for a very, very long time.

Hades II
Supergiant Games is working on a sequel to Hades . At the Game Awards, the company announced Hades II , a direct sequel to the hit rogue-like game. Details about the project were scarce. We know, however, that we will see Artemis and Apollo, two Greek gods who did not appear in the first part. Other mythological characters featured in the trailer include Moros and Nemesis, who will also make their first appearance in Hades . We also saw the titular god in chains, meaning players will have to save him for a change instead of fighting him over and over again.
Originally released in 2020, Hades is an adventure game where Zagreus, the son of Hades and Persephone, tries to escape from the Underworld. Zagreus is aided by various bounties from his Olympian relatives and discovers the truth about his parents’ relationship and why he has been stuck in Hell for so long. Players could give Zagreus permanent upgrades, as well as help solve the problems of the inhabitants of the Underworld, often interacting with them multiple times. The first Hades won several awards at the Game Awards 2020.
Returnal
PlayStation and developer Housemarque confirmed the long-awaited arrival of Returnal on the PC platform at the gala . The game, previously exclusive to PS5, was released in April 2021, and to this day there have been many leaks and rumors about the game’s release on computers. Sony did not confirm any of this information until the Game Awards 2022. Unfortunately, the exact release date of the PC version is still unknown.

Street Fighter 6
Capcom officially revealed that the new Street Fighter will debut on June 2, 2023. The news was delivered accompanied by a brand new trailer, although it wasn’t such a big surprise for many fans. The release date was accidentally revealed last night by the PlayStation Store. Of course, the more exciting version is the one accompanied by lots of gameplay footage, and here Capcom didn’t disappoint with a very exciting trailer.
Hellboy Web Of Wyrd
A new Hellboy game was announced at the gala. Creator Mike Mignola is working on it. Hellboy is one of the more niche comic book characters, but those who know him love him a lot. Son of the Devil got a few movies but never really got a solid video game. Information about the change in the state of affairs appeared at the Game Awards, and the game will be subtitled World of Wyrd . The hero will be voiced by Lance Reddick, and Hellboy himself will make his way through a chaotic, deranged world full of monsters to defeat. The first trailer is created in a graphic style very reminiscent of a comic strip. We can therefore expect a climate strongly conducive to drawing originals.
