Destiny 2 has switched to F2P!

With the release of the new expansion pack, the base content has become available to all players. This is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the title.

 

October 1 was a symbolic day of change for the independent studio Bungie. The team recently parted ways with Activision and decided to work on the development of Destiny 2 themselves  . On the occasion of yesterday’s release of  the Shadowkeep  , a small revolution took place in the game. The representatives of the studio say about the chosen course:

In 2019, we developed and shared a vision we never had before in Destiny . We’ll finally make Destiny 2 what we’ve always wanted to create – one world that you and your friends will significantly influence and remember, ”wrote Luke Smith, Game Director Destiny, in a memo to the Bungie gaming community. “October 1 is the first step towards what we want Destiny 2 to be. This isn’t just the next chapter for Destiny 2 , but the next chapter for ourselves. We’re just getting started.

The most important change is certainly the launch of  Destiny 2: New Light,  the free edition of the game available on all platforms. Players have at their disposal the narrative content of the basic version, as well as the add-ons  Curse of Osiris and  StrategOS , as well as all the basic modes, activities and rewards. Moreover, everyone can freely explore all available planets. The first mission of the Shadowkeep expansion has also been made available  .

This expansion takes the Rangers to the Moon Erisie Morn from the original  Destiny . The heroine is tormented by nightmares that begin to enter the real world. Bungie emphasizes that, however, we are dealing with a separate story and no knowledge of previous add-ons is required.

Moreover, the PC version changed its “home”. The game is no longer available on the Battle.net platform, and on the popular Steam. On the  bungie.net  everyone can move data from the old version to the new. Moreover, the Cross Save function was introduced to the title  . Players can choose their main account and use the same characters on PC and consoles.

Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Soon the game will also hit the Google Stadia streaming platform.
