Have you ever wondered who voices your favorite animations? One of them is Eric Bauza, our birthday boy and dubbing actor today.

Eric Bauza, a well-known (and busy!) Dubbing actor, was born on December 7, 1979 in Canada, although he is of Filipino origin. Already as a child, he showed acting skills, and especially he was good at parodying (which irritated the teachers).

Bauza began his professional career as a character designer. He collaborated with several Hollywood studios, and finally started working as a teacher. Although hardly anyone knows his face, his voice is recognized by fans. He is so good at his job that it would take a long time to list all his roles. It often happens that he does not voice one character, not two, but five, ten and more in one cartoon series! An example is Looney Tunes Cartoons, where he plays Bugs Bunny, but also Daffy Duck (and Tweety, Marvin and more).

(…) when people come out and say, “Well, that sounded terrible,” I really hope they can make it a few more episodes and say, “Oh, it finally has that something.” Or: “Now it works better with the voice.” It also helps to have people like Bob Bergen, who worked with three Daffs in his lifetime. And when someone like him leans down and says, “You’re the closest Daffy to Mel Blanc,” I take those compliments to heart because he met Mel Blanc.

Let us add that the legendary Mel was the first to lend his voice to this character.

But let’s go back to Eric Bauza. He was also a teacher in: Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2014) , Ben 10: Omniverse (2012) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) , El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera (2007-08), GI Joe: Resolute (2009) , Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated (2011-12) , Phineas and Ferb (2011-13) and many, many more. Recently, he has worked, inter alia, over Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Big Hero 6: The Series, Looney Tunes Cartoons and Animaniacs . In 2021, the movie Space Jam: A New Legacy will (hopefully) be released in theaters with his participation.

Below is a comparison of the actors lending the voice of Puss in Boots:

As you can see, work is his passion.

Few people recognize who I am. But if I say something in a specific voice for a given character, their faces light up. It really helps to get through US Customs when traveling from Canada and vice versa. They’re really grumpy, you know these American customs officers. And as soon as they find out that I am a teacher, they say: “Can you say something with that voice?” I feel like I’m doing a 5-minute stand-up every time I cross the line.

What a great job – making people smile, right? We wish him continued success in bringing joy to the audience.
