Check out the new official Star Wars: Skywalker poster. Rebirth ”and a handful of new information about the film, which was revealed at the D23 Expo.
At this year’s Disney Expo D23, Lucasfilm unveiled a new poster of the 9th part of the saga. We see Emperor Palpatine returning unexpectedly, even though he died in part 6 – Return of the Jedi. He is reprized by Ian McDiarmid.
Beyond him, we also see Rey’s lightsaber fight played by Daisy Ridley and Kylo Ren played by Adam Driver. Apparently, in this part’s hands, we will also see a lightsaber with a double-sided red blade, like Darth Maul’s. This information sparked various speculations: whether Rey would switch to the dark side of the force, or whether she would be possessed by Palpatine’s ghost.
We also learned a little more about the new character that will appear in the movie. It will be Zorri Bliss played by Keri Russell (actress known from the films Wonder Child , Evolution of the Planet of the Apes and Mission: Impossible III ). She is a criminal who used to spend a lot of time in a place called Thieves’ Quarter on the planet Kijimi, and also turns out to be an old acquaintance of the resistance pilot Poe Dameron.

During the panel discussion, director JJ Abrams also spoke about the fact that Lea Organa’s character will play a significant role in the film and she will remain “the heart of the story”. The film will use scenes recorded with Carrie Fisher for the 7th episode of Star Wars: The Force Awakens from 2015, which ultimately did not appear there.
