“Cyberpunk 2077” with cutscenes only in FPP perspective

CD Projekt RED resigns from traditional cutscenes. The result is to be more immersion.

The fact that the gameplay in  Cyberpunk 2077 is to be presented from the first person perspective is known for a long time. So far, however, studio representatives have assured that during some cutscenes, the camera will change the perspective and players will be able to watch their hero during dialogues. Such hybrid solutions were present, for example, in the last installments of the Deus Ex  series  by Eidos Montreal. As it turns out, the plans have changed.

Answering fan questions on the  forum , one of the studio representatives admitted that cutscenes were removed from the TPP perspective. All cutscenes are to be presented from the eyes of the main character. Still, while driving the vehicles, the player will be able to choose the view from the cockpit or behind the machine. Marcin Momot from CD Projekt RED also commented on the matter on  Twitter . He stated that such a decision would have a positive impact on immersion, which would benefit both the gameplay and the plot. He also clarified that there are still a few scenes in the game that use a third-person camera.

This decision divided the players and not without reason. After all,  Cyberpunk 2077 is to offer a very rich character creator and customization system. In this case, however, the effects will be invisible most of the time. What is your opinion on this. Be sure to let me know in the comments.

Cyberpunk 2077  will be released on April 16 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
