Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that has been quite controversial at least for a while. Fans were incredibly excited about what CD Projekt Red could do with this title . _ As the release date of Cyberpunk approached , many promises were made. The product was seen as something that could completely change the way you play. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. While some of the mishaps can be attributed to people’s unrealistic expectations , the game stayed launched in a very buggy fashion , leading to mass refunds from retailers , removing it from the PlayStation Store for a period of time and months of major revisions .
Thankfully, Cyberpunk 2077 is better now, and while some still feel it’s not quite what was promised, it’s a solidly performing game. The studio has been quietly working on a big DLC - Phantom Liberty for some time now and officially announced it during The Game Awards. Now it looks like it could be released very soon. According to Polish podcasters Remigiusz Maciaszek (aka Rock) and Borys Nieśpielak, Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty may be released in June or July. It’s already been confirmed that more information on the DLC will be made available at Summer Game Fest in June, but Boris has noticed that CDPR has been targeting June for some time now, with sources telling him it will be released a month after the release date was revealed.
Of course, for now, fans have to take this with a grain of salt. However, DLCs tend to have fairly short marketing cycles because they don’t need as much hype and run-up as a full-fledged video game. It would be surprising if the add-on was shown extensively next month and not given a release date. It would be even more surprising if that date were announced later than this summer.
