You can see the trailer for the new expansion below. It features Cyberpunk ‘s protagonist V, as well as a mysterious voice that apparently dictates her words of allegiance to the New United States. The short text accompanying the trailer on the official website of cyberpunk.net explains a bit more:
Get ready for Phantom Liberty , a new spy thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 set in the all-new Night City district. In 2023 for PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X | S and Stadia.
Let’s pay attention to a few important details. First of all, the DLC will be released next year, although it should not surprise anyone, as we already have September, and until then we had heard little about the new expansion. Besides, the rest of this year is already filled with other premieres. It is also worth noting that the DLC is planned only for the latest generation consoles. This means that Playstation 4 and Xbox One players will not get access to the expansion unless they switch to newer hardware.
Besides, the trailer page tells us nothing more about the game. Due to the lack of information, fans of Cyberpunk 2077 who do not shy away from spoilers will no doubt try to connect the threads between unofficial online leaks from recent months and the official CD Projekt RED material.
The dialogue in the trailer also raises further questions when the story from the expansion takes place, but above all how the DLC will be implemented in the base game. If the action takes place after the events of the main story, does the return of Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves) in the trailer make one of the game endings canonical? If not, how will the game be dosing players with a brand new Night City District not previously available? We look forward to more in the coming months.
