The next production based on DC comics was canceled. This time it was the adventures of a teenage heroine.

CW has confirmed that the third season of Stargirl will also be the last. Although the news about the end of the series is probably a surprise for the fans, the team working on it was informed about everything in advance. The writers were given a chance to finish the adventures of Courtney Whitmore and her friends in a decent way. The production emissions plans remain unchanged. New episodes are expected to appear on Wednesdays until the finale, which is scheduled for December 7th.

Thus, CW gets rid of one of the last superhero productions. So far, this year’s schedule has disappeared, incl. Legends of Tomorrow , Naomi or Batwoman . Next year, we will also see Flash ‘s final season , which has been shortened to thirteen episodes. At the moment, the only adaptation of DC comics aired on the station is Superman and Lois . Unfortunately, given the events of this year and how many projects have been scrapped, the future of this series also remains uncertain.

The reason for all cancellations or postponements of premieres is, of course, the Warner Bros. merger completed earlier this year. and Discovery. The management board of the newly established company decided to cut costs in many places, including screenings of DC comics. Additionally, the CW station, which has so far been run by Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount will soon be in new hands. Nexstar, the largest owner of local TV stations in the US, is to become the majority shareholder. The company will take over 75% of the shares, leaving its predecessors 12.5% each. According to current assurances, cooperation will be maintained so that both Paramount and Warner Bros. productions will continue to appear on CW. Discovery.
