Copernicon is an event aimed at fans of games, fantasy, literature and science in all its forms. This year’s edition will be the 11th edition of the festival.
This year it will be fantastic – stationary Copernicon returns after a pandemic break! This is for sure! This year’s 12th edition of Copenicon will be held in Toruń on September 16-18, 2022 in a completely new organizational form.
Toruń’s Copernicon is the largest science and science festival in this part of Poland, which for over 10 years has been incredibly appreciated by people from all over Poland and the world. It combines various forms of activities: from meetings with authors, numerous competitions, workshops, shows, through board games and video games. It is an ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of your favorite characters, talk about your interests and meet new, interesting creators.
Since 2010, it has been constantly bringing together a wider group of recipients – in 2019 Toruń’s old town hosted over 3,800 participants. Thanks to this, it ranks high among the most beloved festivals on fantasy in Poland. A year ago – due to the difficult epidemiological situation – we had the first opportunity to meet online using the Gather.Town application. Virtual Toruń was visited by over 800 fantastic freaks.
This year, the organizers plan to return to the stationary edition – the motto of this year’s event will be “We are all fantastic”. The event will take place on September 16-18, 2022. We will be able to see you at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Depending on the number of tickets sold, the number of places and attractions will be adequately expanded – details will be posted on the event’s website on an ongoing basis. The organizers believe, however, that the interest in the festival – as in last year’s editions – will be so great that we will be able to enjoy Copernicon, which has never been there before! Advance sale of tickets and gadgets has already started. So far, over PLN 4 700 has been obtained. The expected collection amount is estimated at PLN 50,000. This year, the event program includes as many as 11 thematic blocks: Asian, pop culture, literary, popular science, board games, electronic games, RPG, RPG sessions, competition, festival-related, as well as fandom meetings. Participants will have several hundred hours of attractions at their disposal, which will start on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and will end on Sunday at the same time.
