But it was already?
In Poland, fragments of Kenneth Grahame’s novel appeared at the end of the 20th century – it is a series broadcast on RTL 7 ( The Wind in the Willows ). The main characters were the wise and strong Badger, the gentle and modest Mole, the laid-back and music-loving Rat, and the wealthy (and very cocky) owner of the mansion, Mr. Toad. The series was made using the stop-motion animation technique, similar to Miś Uszatek or Miś Colargol , and unlike other fairy tales broadcast during this period, it was characterized by a specific portrayal of the characters – their appearance could cause fear in the viewer. Interestingly, in Poland, the series About What Willow Humming Aboutwas published, inter alia, as a bedtime story, but – under the influence of negative opinions about the content – was taken off the air.
My first comic 5+
Among the classic propositions for the youngest What Willow Rustling About , it undoubtedly stands out. It is worth recalling that Kenneth Grahame’s novel, considered a pearl of English literature, was published on the pages of a comic book thanks to Michel Plessix, while the Egmont publishing house is responsible for distribution in Poland. The second volume About What Willow Humming About. Auto, Toad, Badger is another portion of adventures of little heroes who together overcome their weaknesses and express tenderness towards nature. You can certainly like such topics. I like it!
Not so scary a devil
The Rat and the Mole still remember the moments of terror they experienced during their trip to the Forest. Some time has passed, however, and now friends are enjoying the time spent together in the warm, safe and cozy Badger Den. There are plenty of nooks and crannies in the home of a predatory mammal, with only surprises! When it’s time to go home, the friends discover that … Toad has gone mad! Now he is only interested in the roar of the engine, the speed, and the smell of oil and gasoline. The hero is simply crazy about the vehicle in the world! Will the friends be able to bring back their minds to the crazy and very naughty amphibian? May they be in trouble otherwise.
Reader reactions
The comic published by Egmont reads with a smile on the face – we admire not only beautiful, delicate lines, but also watercolor colors. The comic has been enriched with many details that will delight both the youngest and their parents. The spatiality of the painting makes it possible to get to know the world of the characters from many perspectives – both the rooms in Borsuk’s apartment and the colorful surroundings are shown. Michel Plessix’s way of portraying reality encourages the reader to join the adventure, and if it were possible, many of us would surely take a leap into the depths of books. Summarizing, what the willows rustle aboutis, contrary to appearances, an interesting story for the youngest and their parents. Reading comic books in the family can be a special event, especially in the company of the animal heroes from the volume What Willow Humming About .
