Completion of shooting for the movie “Batman”

“Batman”, which was dragging on as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, has been completed. This information was provided via Twitter by film director Matt Reeves.

The production of  Batman was long and arduous. It all began in January 2020, and due to the multiple delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the contagion of Robert Pattinson, the work was completed more than a year later. Officially, the shooting ended with the last “slap” on Saturday, March 13, 2021 on the set in Great Britain. Matt Reeves conveyed this information through a humorous photo showing a slapper film wrapped in foil. This is a reference to the term “wrap” which literally means “wrapping” but is also the industry term for the ending of photos.

The information about the end of shooting for Batman was also shared by actor Jeffrey Wright, who plays the role of commissioner James Gordon in Reeves’ film. His Twitter entry indicates that the creators’ plans are to continue this chapter of Batman’s adventures.

Gordon is quitting … for now. Exactly one year after the plan was closed due to a pandemic. What a ride it was.

Both the release date and the plot details of Batman are kept secret. In addition to Robert Pattinson and Jeffrey Wright, it featured, among others, Colin Farrell (The Penguin – Oswald Cobblepot), Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman – Selina Kyle), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), John Turturro (Carmine Falcone), Paul Dano (The Riddler – Edward Nashton), Barry Keoghan (Stanley Merkel ) and Peter Sarsgaard (Gil Colson District Attorney).

The world created by Matt Reeves will be the setting for the television series of the HBO Max streaming platform. This production will be a prequel to the movie Batman . He will address corruption in the Gotham City Police Department and its origins. The author of the series will be Joe Barton.
