George RR Martin himself says about the production:
I like themes based on real events, but presented in a new, fresh and unpredictable way. And even more than events, I am interested in people. Even the greatest heroes are not free from weaknesses and are no strangers to moments of doubt. People are complicated, and I wanted my heroes to be molded from a similar clay. It seems to be the perfect summary of the series, not only the threads of the fantastic world surprised, but also the characters’ complex personalities and relationships, which caused the viewers to move, anger and surprise. Each subsequent episode was a dose of a whole range of emotions!
David Benioff and DB Weiss are responsible for the fictional side of the series, and in cooperation with Martin, they adapted the first volume of the saga for the script. – The Sopranos in Middle-earth – this is what David Benioff said about Game of Thrones in one of the first interviews. And it’s hard to disagree with him, because although the series takes place in a fantastic world, the problems faced by its heroes are already universal. In order to reliably create the land of Westeros and its inhabitants on the screen, among others David J. Peterson – a language specialist who created the language of the Dothraki tribe for production purposes – with a 1,800-word dictionary and his own grammar.
