The Garfield series of FAT CAT TRIPPACKS is a collection of comic stripes collected in a new, colorful edition translated by Piotr W. Cholewa. Garfield has changed a little over the years, but one thing has remained the same: his gigantic appetite for food and sense of humor. Europe boards. Without a Face
Screenplay: Pierre Dubois
Drawings: Zbigniew Kasprzak
Translation: Maria Mosiewicz
The latest comic book by the famous Polish cartoonist Zbigniew Kasprzak! 17th century, times of the Thirty Years’ War. Huge stretches of Europe have been ravaged by fighting armies. The struggle has been going on for so many years that ordinary soldiers no longer remember who and what they are fighting for. A squad of mercenaries known as faceless people, fleeing from a larger enemy, ventures into the mountains, and then ends up in a lost valley, where no one has heard of the world-ravaging storm. What awaits raiders brought up on the battlefield in a land that seems like a paradise? Can people who barely remember times of peace adjust to normal life? Perhaps they will be able to forget about war, but will war forget about them? The script of Without a Face was written by Pierre Dubois, a French author of adventure series, in which old Celtic beliefs and Breton fairy tales play an important role (including Le grimoire du petit peuple, Les lutins, La légende du changeling). The author of the illustrations for the album is one of the most famous Polish graphic artists in the West, Zbigniew Kasprzak (Yans, Travelers, Girl from Panama, Halloween Blues).
Europe boards. Battle
Written by: Patrick Rambaud, Frédéric Richaud
Drawings: Ivan Gil
Translated by: Ernest Kacperski
May 1809. Napoleon Bonaparte’s Great Army is preparing to cross the Danube over a pontoon bridge built overnight by the French engineering services. On the other side of the river, the French are waiting for Archduke Charles with Austrian troops, determined to avenge the humiliating defeat suffered at Austerlitz. The Battle of Essling is the first hecatomb of modern wars: thirty hours of combat without a winner and loser, over forty thousand dead, left on the battlefield. From engineers to volteachers, from hussars to staff, from the walls of Vienna to the banks of a rising river and burning villages – “The Battle” is much more than a historical novel or comic book. It is a military fresco. The comic was created on the basis of Patrick Rambaud’s novel “Battle”, which won the Goncourt Prize and the Grand Prix of the French Academy. The author of the script is the famous French writer, essayist and comic book screenwriter Frédéric Richaud. The illustrations were made by Ivan Gil – a Spanish cartoonist, lecturer in drawing and comics at the Academy of Professional Drawing and Illustration “Academy C10” in Madrid. In 2014, the comic was honored with the History Prix – an award for works that popularize history, such as exhibitions, films or games – in the category of historical comics. The album is a real treat for fans of historical comics, especially fans of the Napoleonic era. the comic was honored with the History Prix – an award for works that popularize history, such as exhibitions, films or games – in the category of historical comics. Sin City. Family Values, Volume 5
Script: Frank Miller
Drawings: Frank Miller
Translation: Tomasz Kreczmar
Dwight McCarthy knows that what counts in Sin City is power, influence and… family values. Therefore, he accepts the order and follows the killers of a family member. Vendetta is the main theme of the album, which tells how one crime becomes the beginning of series of others, because in Sin City everyone is related or friendly to someone. Dwight maintains a well-known sense of humor in unbelievable troubles, and when the situation becomes hopeless, the silent and deadly ninja woman Miho enters the scene. Sin City is one of the most famous American sensational cycles. Its author is the master of comics Frank Miller. The success of the series (the first volume was published in 1994) was determined not only by the excellent, dark scenarios, but also by the characters – tough men who live according to their own code of honor, and sexy women who are not, however, passive objects of male interest. Frank Miller has been awarded the Eisner Prize several times for this series.
