During a panel about the upcoming animations at Comic Con, Marvel revealed some details about the sequel to the classic mutant series. Graphics with characters are also shown.

Probably the most important of the entire presentation about X-Men ’97 were the graphics of the characters. Virtually the entire main team of mutants known from the original series will return. Among them are Cyclops, Wolverine, Jubilee, Storm, Gambit, Rogue and Beast. Interestingly, the X-Men are to be led by Magneto, who took over this role from Professor Xavier (the latter, in order to prolong his life, went into space to the Shi’ar space). Other positives to come are Time travelers Cable and Bishop, as well as Morph, Forge, and Nightcrawler. Debuting in the animation will be Sunspot. The villains were also presented: Mister Sinister, Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost and Callisto.

It was also revealed when the series hits Disney +. The production will be there in the fall of next year and it is officially known that it will be the first project related to X-Men to be created at Marvel Studios. Besides, the studio has already revealed plans to shoot the second season.

X-Men ’97 will be set directly after the events of the original series. No details of the plot have been released yet. The main animation director is Jake Castorena and the screenwriter is Beau DeMayo. Charley Feldman is appointed supervising producer. Eric and Julia Lewald and Larry Houston, who created the production in the 90s, are returning as consultants.
