Comic book pattern for the space avengers movie – review of the comic book “Guardians of the Galaxy” t.1

Surely most of you know a funny group of losers and outcasts who supported the Avengers in defeating Thanos. Now you have the opportunity to see how this group was formed in the comic. Of course, all with a large dose of humor.

Another crisis

In Poland, there is certainly no shortage of fans of Marvel comics and space Avengers. Unfortunately, their solo adventures are not released very often. Apart from a few volumes published as part of the Marvel Now series and a few adventures in comic book collections, we really have nothing. Fortunately, Egmont decided to change that. And so there were other adventures of our little ones. Polish readers already have the opportunity to buy the comic book Guardians of the Galaxy. Volume 1 , which continues the threads appearing in Annihilation . However, the screenwriters of the latest adventures, Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, made sure that it was a kind of restart, and knowledge of previous events is not required to understand the new content.

In fact, what is the new volume about? Cracks in the structure of the universe, a threat from the Skrulls and the Universal Church of Truth. Only Star-Lord and the rest of his company can cope with all of this, for whom chaos and destruction in the name of good are daily bread. The star team includes, among others: Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Drax, Adam Warlock, dog Kosmo, Quasar, Mantis and Major Zwycięstwa. Such a conglomerate can fit perfectly at the right moment.

Pstrokaty cosmos

Several artists of various styles have worked on the album, which consists of twelve notebooks. Nevertheless, we managed to maintain a coherent concept and we can see that in general most of the frames are characterized by a multitude of bright colors and a more dynamic presentation of the characters. Highlighting the details gives us a feeling of communing with a completely different medium – almost as if we were watching a James Gunn film.

Something more

An interesting addition is the extension of the main thread with moral themes and humorous content, which in my opinion are missing in the knitted comics recently. Such a crucible of personality begs for all kinds of drama and friction between the characters. The entire first part of the reviewed volume is the team’s contact and gradual getting to know the characters who, despite their distrust, try to cooperate with each other to solve the problems that have arisen. I believe that such an approach to classic heroes is a plus, because both old readers are not bored, and new ones can get used to this explosive line-up.

In conclusion, the latest item about Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the few “must-haves”. We will get everything we expect and more. Humor mixed with seriousness, a large dose of humor and an immeasurable Marvel cosmos.
