Cheaper version of Nintendo Switch confirmed

Nintendo has officially revealed the Switch Lite. The console will only work in portable mode.

After months of leaks and guesswork, Nintendo has finally found the cards. The cheaper version of the Nintedo Switch console is created and is called Switch Lite. According to unofficial information, it is a model intended only for playing in portable mode. The model was priced at $ 199.99 (compared to the base $ 299.99 for the regular version). What’s missing in the cheaper version? We will not be able to connect the console to the TV, which is why the standard Joy-Con controllers have also been abandoned. Instead, the analog knobs and other buttons are located directly on the console (the directional buttons have been replaced with a d-pad).

Thus, the HD Rumble technology and IR cameras were abandoned, so standard programs only in the titles marked as compatible with the portable mode (Switch with inserted Joy-Conami). To play titles that use motion control, you will need to buy separate controllers (and chargers for them).

Nintendo Switch Lite has also been clearly slimmed down compared to the older version. The 6.2-inch screen was replaced with a 5.5-inch display. The equipment will be available in three colors – gray, blue and yellow. The console can boast of a more powerful battery. While the regular Switch works in portable mode between 2.5 and 6.5 hours depending on the game, the Lite version is expected to run from 3 to 7 hours. For example, Lite is to allow an hour longer to play in  The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild .

Nintendo Switch Lite is expected to go on sale on September 20, 2019. By. unofficial information, it may coincide with the release date of the Switch release of  The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt .
